I’ve been really lucky to find some great like minded blogging mums on Instagram. I thought I would ask one of the lovely ladies to introduce themselves each week and link their blogs.
First up is Kate who’s instagram page is @actionplanmum
Like me Kate tells you how it is, I love her for that. Here is a little about Kate in her own words.
Hello, I’m Kate and I have a tiny blog under the name of Actionplanmum. I live with my boyfriend and my little boy, Oli, who has just turned one. Although I grew up in Essex, I now live in a little village in Snowdonia in North Wales. I’m a qualified teacher and love working with children, although I’m not always enamoured of our education system!
Growing up, I always wanted to be a mum but assumed I would be married first. As always, life didn’t quite go to plan and I found myself pregnant with someone who was more a series of one night stands than a long term partner, so It’s safe to say my pregnancy journey was not the stuff of fairy tales, but the important thing is that the three of us live together as a family and the tough times have brought us closer when they could have driven us apart.
At the moment I am struggling with anxiety and depression. It’s not something I’ve experienced before and although I find it difficult to talk about in ‘real life’ it’s something of a release to be able to write it down and post it on my blog. Becoming a mother and developing mental health issues within a very short space of time has been challenging, but I’m working hard to fix the things I can and give my son the kind of life I want him to have.
Before meeting my boyfriend I lived a very sheltered life. I never cooked before my son was born, I didn’t really know who I was or what I liked to do. I’m 30 this year and I’ve never been abroad! As cliche as it sounds, I’m trying to ‘find myself’ now at the same time as being the best mum I can be, and this means introducing myself to new hobbies as well as taking up old ones, trying to fix my insecurities and I finally got a passport last year!
Anyway, I’ve rambled on quite a bit now, so I’ll finish by saying that I try to be as honest as I can on my Instagram and my blog and that can sometimes make for uncomfortable reading, but that’s life isn’t it? One big rollercoaster!
